Darby Andre

Darby Andre lives in Pennsylvania, near my community in Berks county. She was born with a heart defect and underwent corrective surgery when she was just a baby. Today, Darby is an active volunteer for the Heart Association - she even has her own team for this year's American Heart Association Heart Walk.

Mattie Stepanek

Mattie Stepanek was a gifted boy who died from a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy (MD) at the tender age of 13. Mattie was a talented poet and inspirational speaker who left behind a legacy of powerful writing and famous friends including Larry King and President Jimmie Carter.
