Fall Leaves Beautifully Preserved Without Pressing
You
can preserve autumn leaves by pressing and drying them like
flowers, or you can preserve color and retain leaves pliable
texture by feeding the leaves a mixture of water and glycerine
through their stems.
Mix 3/4 cup water with 2 ounces of glycerine in a small jar,
cup or vase. Stand fresh colorful leaves in this mixture with
stem ends in the solution. Allow the leaves to absorb the
glycerine solution for 2-3 days.
Stems will turn brown, but
leaves will hold their colors - use to make decorative autumn
arrangements or table decorations.
