Fall Leaves Beautifully Preserved Without Pressing

Autumn leavesYou can preserve autumn leaves by pressing and drying them like flowers, or you can preserve color and retain leaves pliable texture by feeding the leaves a mixture of water and glycerine through their stems.

Mix 3/4 cup water with 2 ounces of glycerine in a small jar, cup or vase. Stand fresh colorful leaves in this mixture with stem ends in the solution. Allow the leaves to absorb the glycerine solution for 2-3 days.

Stems will turn brown, but leaves will hold their colors - use to make decorative autumn arrangements or table decorations.
